For the tribes, and for Chima!
— Laval

Laval is the prince of the Lion Tribe in Chima. His father, Lagravis, is the king of the Lion Tribe. His mother was not mentioned in this series. He used to be best friends with Cragger before he demanded more Chi, his parents went missing, and a war broke out. Laval is expected to be a mature lion warrior, but he is still shown to act like a kid and sometimes forgets his duties. He is the nephew of Lavertus.

He appears in sets 70005 Laval's Royal Fighter, 70010 The Lion CHI Temple, and 70115 Ultimate Tournament, which includes two Speedorz, one of which is for Laval to ride on. His Speedorz is yellow and has lion decals. Like 5 other members of different tribes, Laval will appear as an Ultrabuild Hero Factory-style set in the summer of 2013.

Laval dons a sleeveless, blue tunic. He wears a golden harness over his chest with a blue CHI orb in the center. Over his waist is a blue belt fastened by a buckle with a lion head. He wears a kilt on his legs which extends about halfway downwards.

A piece of golden armour which covers much of his chest and points over the shoulders is placed below his neck. A shallow part with a stud holds a transparent light blue disk-plate to represent a CHI orb. Over the armour a blue cape is placed and, because of the armour's shoulder blades, rises and expands at a higher area than usual, but also does not end up reaching as low.

His skin is tan in colour, with white hands and feet which are also detailed with black claws.

Laval's head uses an extension piece with a cat-like head fitted over a standard mini-figure one. The extension features an extended snout with the muzzle coloured white and nose black. An open-mouthed smirk is printed under the nose. Laval's golden, cat-eyes which are surrounded by white show through holes in the head. Around Laval's face is a crown which spikes up in the top. It separates the rest of his head from a spiky, dark red mane pointed backwards.

Laval was born to Lagravis, the Lion King. Sometime when he was still a cub, his father banished his best friend Lavertus.

The Legend of ChimaEdit

When Laval was just a young lion prince, he hung out with his best friend Cragger and they played together with Laval, Cragger, Eris, Worriz, Gorzan, Rhogon, and Skinnet. Laval and Cragger were equally matched in whatever game they played. However, Laval understood that rules were to help them not to get in the way of their freedoms. This led to some conflicts between Laval and Cragger. One day, Cragger decided to take a look at the Pool of Chi and asked Laval to join him. Reluctantly, Laval followed him. At the pool, Cragger was enticed and gave into temptation. He snatched some Chi and unleashed its power. Laval had warned him not to, due to the lion's urge to always follow the rules. The Chi drove him mad. Laval chased after Cragger but could not catch him. However, Cragger was eventually stopped and tazed by Lagravis. Laval, Cragger, Crominus and Lagravis discussed Cragger's crime at the Lion Temple, but did not get very far. Crominus and Crunket blamed Laval for Cragger's theft. Laval was then sent to his room by Lagravis, soon after the crocodiles left.

Laval is up in his room when Cragger goes to the temple again, this time with Worriz. Lagravis, gaurds, and Laval come down to see what is going on. Cragger quickly zoomed away in his Speedor, but Laval was faster. In desperation, Cragger fired a Croc Flare, which summoned the army of Crocs to him. Cragger realizing his mistake apologized to Laval. Unfortunately, he still had to deal with the consequences. An all out battle between the Crocs and Lions had begun. Laval joined this fight along with his father and the rest of the Lion Tribe. Crominus and Crunket arrive for the war, but their tank almost falls into a canyon. Cragger tries desperately to save his parents, but they fall into the canyon anyway, never to be seen again. Laval then goes to his friend, comforting him.

The Great StoryEdit

Later, Laval is sitting on the stairs outside the temple. Lagravis walks up to him if he has heard word from Cragger. Laval says no. Lagravis then begins to tell him The Great Story. Once he does, Laval says it is more like a Pretty Good Story. Lagravis then says that he needs to be more respectful.

Later, Laval is seen in his room in the temple, looking for his Chi harness. He rushed out to the Sacred Pool to receive his first "taste" of Chi at a royal ceremony with his father, Lagravis. Unfortunately, the Lion Chi Temple was attacked by the Wolf Tribe, the Raven Tribe, and the Crocodile Tribe. Laval accidentally dropped his Chi orb which was stolen by a masked Croc. Laval pursued the Croc on his Speedor. Laval used the Royal Valious in a desperate attempt to defeat the Croc, which he successfully accomplished. He removed the Croc's mask, and it was revealed to be Cragger.

Laval is astonished that his friend would do such a thing. Cragger is totally transformed to evil, due to the affects of the poisonous evil flower Crooler used on Cragger. The two former friends fight some more, but Cragger pushes Laval into the lake. Laval, who is not a very good swimmer, almost drowns, but is saved by the lion Legend Beast. They arrive at the temple, and joined the battle. Laval tells Cragger to surrender and leave, which he did. Laval knows that the evil tribes will be back, and they'd be waiting.

The Warrior WithinEdit

The Hundred Year MoonEdit

Laval and Eris help Gorzan search for G'Loona after she is kidnapped by Cragger and Crooler when the wolves have gone crazy. They managed to escape them when the Hundred Year Moon night ended.

Official DescriptionEdit

2013Edit This is a description taken from Do not modify it.

Laval is the headstrong prince of the Lion Tribe who still has a lot to learn about what it means to be a leader. He may want others to see him as a powerful and responsible adult, but he’s still a big kid at heart. Duty doesn’t always take priority over having a good time. But what’s the harm in pulling a little prank every so often? Like a lot of kids, he has an insatiable curiosity and a relentless flair for challenging the rules. This can be a problem since the Lions are all about following and enforcing rules. Can Laval figure this out and become the great warrior and leader his tribe expects of him?

2014Edit This is a description taken from Do not modify it.

The prince of the Lion tribe, Laval was once very headstrong and more interested in having a good time than anything else. But the battles over CHI have helped him to grow up a little bit. While he still loves nothing more than a new adventure or a chance to have fun, he also understands more about the duties and responsibilities of a prince. He showed that by his willingness to put the past aside and ally with Cragger against a common threat. As the leader of a new, united team of heroes, the fate of Chima rests on his shoulders.

  • Laval is the prince of the Lion Tribe. This is proven by the teaser video for Laval on the website. Also, Lagravis is the king, making him a prince. His minifigure also shows some royalty, such as the crown and blue cape.
  • Laval wants to spread out the Chi equally to all of the tribes.
  • Laval liked Cragger's competitiveness when he was younger, and that is what made them become best friends. In their youth, they would pull pranks and go on adventures together.
  • In Legends of Chima: The Animated Series, he is voiced by Scott Shantz.
  • Laval is the only member of his tribe with a reddish mane.
  • Laval is also the most powerful in all the tribes.
  • He's also seen in Chima Online.
